Kevin Schwantz his first race on an RG500
Here we have a vid of a very nice and spectacular race of Kevin Schwantz on an RG500. A Bits and Pieces bike, moved from a museum to the track. This bike was Barry Sheene his old machine. Take also notice of a very spectacular racer "The Angry Ant" Paul Lewis.

RTM 350
The flying dentist from Assen the Netherlands is busy with another exciting project, a four cylinder square four RTM 350. This is probably the only survivor. He also owns a 250cc twin.
RTM stands for Ringhini Torrani Motori. Ringhini and Torrani were the constructors of these bikes.

Spondon F1 Yamaha RD500
Ex Brian Reid Yamaha 500 V4 F1 Spondon Racer.
This machine was built especially for the F1 world championship in 1985, it had taken months of preparation & some £25,000 in funds to get this machine ready in time for the IOM TT races, but going to the TT races in a fishing boat ended in disaster as the boat the Tornamona Lass skippered by Archie Lappin and with Joey & Robert Dunlop as passengers, foundered on rocks and this machine along with some others sank to the bottom of the sea, the machine was brand new and had not even raced yet.
The machine was eventually recovered rebuilt and prepared for the TT races, Brian lapped the circuit at 107.05mph on the first lap of the F1 race but later retired at Hanley’s when the carburetor blew off. The frame is a Spondon beam, the engine was built by Arnie Fletcher and Robin Church from Len Manchester Motorcycles, the engine in 1985 was giving out 150Bhp on the test bench, timing 1mm BTDC, short reach plugs fitted, 280 main jets, 35º squish, piston clearance 2.6 thou. Brian Reid was able to pass a TZ750 Yamaha easy at the UGP. The wheels are special 16" Dymag items, and the exhausts are Len Manchester made, the ignition is Hitachi TZ500, the forks were changed some time during 85 from Spondon to RG500. (This great information was provided by RZatch from the RDRZ500 forum)

Kawasaki KR500
Made a new photoset about a rather special bike the KR500, a square four two stroke with an alloy monocoque frame. The bike debuted in the world championship at GP of Nations 1980 (the circuit Misano Adriatico) with the rider Kork Ballington. At the end of the season the South African rider finished 12th in the standings. For the 1981 season the KR500 was improved, a new chassis was built which was stiffer and lighter, the bike got a magnesium crankcase and a fork with anti-dive. The season saw the KR500 get its first podium finishes with two third places (in Netherlands and Finland) with Ballington finishing 8th in the final standings of the championship. The main change before the 1982 season was switching to Showa suspensions. Ballington finished 9th in the championship, the best result during the season was a 6th place in Misano. At the end of the season the Kawasaki retired from the Grand Prix motorcycle racing.

Barton Phoenix and Buell RW750
Never thought that I would collect enough pics to make a set of the amazing Barton Phoenix and Buell RW750 square four twostroke engines. But thanks to Nigel and Chris that became reality! Barton (BARry Hart and TONy Ryan) used the design of the Suzuki RG500 engine but made it better and more reliable. Suzuki used Bartons design in later RG500 models. They wanted to race the bikes in the F750 class but that never took place. The bikes were used in the 1980 movie Silver Dream Racer. They were ridden by Roger Marshall. In the eighties Erik Buell bought most of the Barton Phoenix bikes and engines. He was planning to race them in the AMA F1 class just before they banned them for this class. The engine in the picture has cylinders with the name Armstrong on it, they were most likely been made during the period that Barry Hart was working for Armstrong on a 500cc twostroke triple engine.

Kawasaki fourcylinder prototypes
This time some rare pics of two fourcylinder twostroke prototypes made by Kawasaki. The racer is an inline four with a staggered cylinder layout to make the engine smaller. The road bike is an squarefour. Both bikes don't exist anymore. The frame of the racer is still in use, now with a KR750 triple in it.
